RTJ4 Fan Reactions

“The most important things to a musician are making music and performing music. once an album is done it doesn’t feel complete until we experience the connection of the audience. We cant wait to bring you new art and then interact with it and feel your energy. We crave it.

Unfortunately, like you all, when we dropped RTJ4 we were stuck at home. No touring, no in-stores, no chance to get out there and connect with all the Jewel Runners and feel the energy and excitement around this album. Just… home. It could have been a real fucking bummer. But…

There were some shining lights out there that saved us from feeling disconnected from you. A huge one was getting to watch all of the amazing RTJ4 reaction videos people made. To see the joy and enthusiasm of people experiencing our new music for the first time filled a huge hole for us. They made us smile and laugh and even choke up at points. The people in these videos are people who are psyched about music in a really pure way and being able to share your experience of hearing music is something that you probably don’t get thanked for enough. So this is our love letter back to you all.

There are so many of you that made reaction videos and I swear we watched damn near every single one of them. If we were to cut snippets from them all it would be an hour long. So even if you didn’t make it to this cut, thank you. We appreciate you and your excitement and we want to say you’re the shit.”

Love,
El-P (on behalf of Run The Jewels)

Walking In The Snow

Live at Holy Calamavote

Feels like a good time to bring back our epic live concert, Holy Calamavote, so we’re doing it clip by clip. And given the season we’re in, politically & otherwise, we’re starting off with the standout performance of “Walking in the Snow”, cuz goddamn that muthaf*cka cold…

Walking In The Snow Video Out Now

Run The Jewels, the heroes, the breakers of chains, and the busters of locks, return with a new video for ‘Walking In The Snow’. Directed by Chris Hopewell, who also directed the music video for RTJ3’s “Don’t Get Captured,” the stop motion visual stars action figure versions of Mike and El who have been thrust into a toy-populated bedroom city where authoritarian forces have seized power and routinely use violence to quell revolt. But it doesn’t take long for our heroes to discover and link up with a secret rebel force intent on overthrowing their frosty overlords.
